Two lady members of the Sanguniang Panlalawigan from the First District of Negros Oriental broke their silence over published criticisms of the “Magdegamo Ta” stickers on relief goods distributed to earthquake victims.

SP members Liland Estacion and Jessica Koppin Villanueva said it was unfair to single out Gov. Roel Degamo because even a “higher office” was doing it.

Stickers and pictures of Dick Gordon, of the Philippine Red Cross, and even those of Vice President Jejomar Binay, were printed on the plastic bags of relief goods sent to local government units hit by the earthquake, they said. And yet, only Degamo was singled out.

Estacion and Villanueva said they are saddened by the efforts to destroy the governor, who, they claimed, is doing his best to help their constituents in the First District to rise above the rubble of the recent calamity.

Degamo, on the other hand, is unfazed by the criticisms against him and said he will remain focused on working for the betterment of Negrenses.

He said “Magdegamo Ta,” which means “let us cook” or prepare, has long been the battle cry of his administration.*JG
