Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo is asking government agencies to make good the promises they made to Negrenses when their top officials visited the province recently.
These include the P145 million farm-to-market roads promised by Department of Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala, and the P100 million funding for the Central Block building of the provincial hospital pledged by Department of Health Secretary Enrique Ona recently.
Degamo questioned the change of venue in the bidding for the P100 million project to the DOH regional office, that he claimed was done at the prodding of a contractor from the province.
He also reminded Alcala of the promised two tractors for farmers in Negros Oriental, saying that the provincial government’s counterpart of two tractors are already being used.
Degamo alleged that a Negrense politician is making these promises difficult to realize, giving false hopes to the people.*JG
