A memorandum of agreement was signed yesterday between the Negros Oriental provincial government and the Development Bank of the Philippines for a P350 million loan to fund the completion of the Central Block Building of the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital.

Gov. Roel Degamo has appealed to Oriental Negrenses to send in donations in cash or in kind to help the typhoon victims especially in hardest hit areas like Tacloban and other parts of Leyte.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology is conducting a six-day seminar-workshop on the rapid earthquake damage assessment system, or REDAS, in Dumaguete City, with local government units from Negros Oriental and Occidental, Cebu, Bohol and Siquijor represented.
