CA grants 60-day TRO, Degamo remains as guv

The Court of Appeals Special 5th Division ruled that the dismissal of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo would ruin his reputation as individual and as a public official, and deprive his right to assume his post as the newly elected governor.

MANILA, Philippines – Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo has secured a 60-day temporary restraining order (TRO) against the implementation of a ruling of the Office of the Ombudsman dismissing him from office.

An elated Gov. Roel Degamo last night told his supporters holding vigil at the Capitol in Dumaguete City that he has secured a temporary restraining order from the Court of Appeals against the dismissal resolution of the Office of the Ombudsman.
