The five brand-new and high-end heavy equipment recently acquired by the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental already arrived in the Province and were already blessed.

Negros Oriental Governor Roel Ragay Degamo led the blessing ceremony which was also attended by Board Members Liland Estacion and Jessica Villanueva both from the First Congressional District. It was also attended by the representatives of the Pasajero Motors Corporation – the supplier of the five heavy equipment and some officials of the provincial government.

The five Caterpillar heavy equipment include a Bulldozer, a Road Roller, a Pay Loader, a Back Hoe and a Grader which prices add up to  some Php 58 million which is lower than the original price of Php 66 million as the price was discounted with a total of Php 8 million.

Gov. Degamo said these equipment are very vital and will be used in the on-going massive rebuilding and rehabilitation activities of damaged infrastructures caused by both Tropical Storm “Sendong” and the recent 6.9 magnitude earthquake greatly affecting the First and Second Congressional Districts, respectively.

The Governor strongly pushed for the purchase of quality and durable heavy equipment as these will be one of the major components both for disaster preparedness and in the establishment of the Engineering Mobile Teams in the Province.

He added that the P8 million-savings will be used to purchase more heavy-duty dump trucks for the province.
